WWPI returns to the beautiful Inland Empire for the 2018 Summer Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Historic Davenport Hotel in downtown Spokane, Wash.
The meeting gets underway Sunday morning with golf at the MeadowWood Golf Course, 24501
E. Valleyway Ave., in nearby Liberty Lake, starting at 10:30 a.m. Please note there is no transportation provided to golf. The course is about a 30-minute drive from the hotel.
Sunday evening features a Welcome Reception at the historic hotel starting at 6 p.m. A light dinner will be available starting at 6:45 p.m.
Following breakfast Monday morning, the official business gets underway with the OSU Aquatic Coop meeting and a general session. Committee meetings kick off with the Utility Pole committee at 9 a.m. and afternoon meetings of the Aquatics and Regulatory Affairs committees.
For spouses and guests, there is an optional Sip and Paint Outing on Monday morning, where you can exercise your creativity on the canvas while enjoying some of the local wines and beers. You must be 21 or older to attend. The fee is $25 for the outing.
Monday closes with the President's Reception, followed by dinner.
Tuesday morning starts with an Other Issues session on the roundwood industry, followed by the Lumber & Plywood meeting. The Summer Meeting ends with the Board of Directors session.
Hotel Reservations
Reservations at the Historic Davenport Hotel can be made online at https://wwpi.info/SummerMtg2018. Please note on the online registration form, the parking fee is listed as $17 a day and a destination fee of $10 per day. However, under WWPI's contract, the actual fees are $12 a day for parking and there is no destination fee. These discounted fees should be reflected on your final bill from the hotel.
Reservations can also be made by calling 800-688-5253. Make sure to tell the operator the group name Western Wood Preservers Institute to receive special rates.
Deadline for confirmed hotel reservations is May 25, 2018. Please contact the hotel directly if you’d like any pre- or post- days beyond the meeting dates or any special requests.
Meeting Registration
Registration fees are $450 per attendee, $100 for spouses/guests and $100 for golf. There is also a $25 fee for the optional event for spouses and guests.
Click on the Register Now button to register online. You can pay your registration fees by credit card or by check. Or you can download a registration form, complete it and return it by email.
Deadline for meeting registrations is May 25, 2018 (same as the hotel deadline). There will be a late fee of $100 per attendee and $35 per spouse/guest for registrations received after May 25. No cancellations or registrations will be accepted after June 12.
