2020 WWPI Winter Meeting

WWPI moves uptown for the 2020 Winter Meeting Feb. 19-20 in downtown Portland. The meeting will be held at the historic Benson Hotel, just a few blocks from where past meetings were held .

Business meetings start at 8 a.m. Wednesday with an General Issues Forum, featuring a presentation on treated glulam timber bridges from Grant Kirker of the U.S. Forest Products Lab. That will be followed by the Utility Pole Committee meeting at 9 a.m. and the OSU Aquatic Coop meeting at 11 a.m. After lunch, the Aquatics Committee will meet at 1 p.m., followed by the Lumber & Plywood Committee session.

Wednesday evening features a reception and dinner at the Portland City Grill, on the 30th floor of the nearby U.S. Bancorp Tower, starting at 6 p.m.

Thursday's schedule starts with the Other Issues Forum at 8 a.m., followed by the Regulatory Affairs committee meetings at 9 a.m. Closing out the session is the Board of Directors lunch meeting at 12 noon.

There will be coffee, fruit and pastries available each morning in the meeting room.  

Hotel Reservations

Reservations can be made at the Benson Hotel by calling 888-523-6766 or 503-228-2000 or by email to reservations@bensonhotel.com. Make sure to tell the operator the group name Western Wood Preservers Institute to receive the special rate of $169 a night. Deadline for confirmed hotel reservations is 4 p.m. Pacific time on Jan. 18, 2020.

Meeting Registration

Registration fees are $190 per attendee. Click on the Register Now button to register online. You can pay your registration fees by credit card or by check. 

Deadline for meeting registrations is Jan. 20, 2020. There will be a late fee of $25 per attendee for registrations received after Jan. 20. No cancellations will be accepted after Feb. 7.
